Math team is comprised of students with a genuine passion for math and the motivation to further push their skills beyond the middle school level.
Students train throughout the year on problems that range from basic number computation to high school level math curriculum (Statistics, Geometry, Algebra II, and even basic level Trigonometry). In February they also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in a competition against nearly 30 other middle schools across the state of Hawaii. |

AMC Math Competition
- The AMC 8 is an exam for students in grades 8 and below, administered annually by the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) to students all over the United States.
- The AMC 8 is a 25 question, 40 minute multiple choice test. Problems generally increase in difficulty as the exam progresses. Through 2007, calculators were permitted; though now, they are not. A correct answer scores 1 point, but unlike the AMC 10 and 12, no points are given for blank answers.
